I did it on mine with the help of EVO plumming and SFR venting the nose. Now it's a straight shot of outside air in front of the radiator and now restricted by a box...

Since we are dusting this thread off, I think in the case of the S2 this is a bad move. The airbox was fed air from a high pressure area which is used as the IC opening on a 951. Now with the vents I think you might lose all the ram effect out (what I suspect is) a negative pressure area where the new vents are. Also the S2 airbox is really nice, very large, big and deep filter, and tuned to enhance engine performance.
