Default another one...

I hate to see the killed car posts but, i finally did it, after driving hard with the car for 2yrs its crashed. It was raining and i was getting onto the freeway (101 south in san luis obispo) around a loopy on ramp, and decided to play in the rain. I spun all the way around and my left side of the car met the gaurdrail. the damage would not have been so bad If i hadn't hit the first post of the gaurdrail, maybe then I could have driven away.
I however am completely fine, not even a bruise, just installed a sparco, which I think helped alot becasue I hit sideways.

I do not know what i am doing yet, might part the car and get a turbo, might find another NA in need of an engine, but we will see.

new pic link http://slo.craigslist.org/pts/105190296.html , quite a bit of carnage to be seen,, the post of the gaurdrail actually pushed in the footwell about a foot! my clutch pedal is now being held down by folded up metal, and the brake pedal almost got the same,,

Good god. Glad to see you are ok. These cars are pretty damn well designed for crashes. I ran mine head-on into a building's brick wall at ~30mph (fell-asleep at wheel) and came out with bruised arms and nose. Don't do what I did and sell your car in shock for a ridiculous amount....like the 246.07 I sold the S for.

OW. OW OW OW. that looks PAINFULL. i'm so sorry. i HATE to see wrecked 944's. lart's was bad, most everyone else's was "repairable" but that is simply AWFUL. oh it pains my soul to see that. if you want, i might be able to take it off your hands later as a complete car. i might have another complete body n/a with a bad motor coming back into my hands soon. sorry to be a vulture. again, sorry for your loss......damn that looks painful.

Those pictures are always interesting. One they show you(and Porsche®) what their car can take. And two they always look fine from one side or the other

I am sure it has happened somewhere but has anybody on this board been in an accident in their 44 and come out with major injuries?

How old are you? I still believe the smartest thing I've done has been staying away from any type of sports car until I'm done with college and able to better afford (without much added financial stress) another sports car. There's plenty of other options if you agree to stay away from sports cars...I personally wanted to get a Jeep Wrangler because I think they are fun looking to drive in the sun with no top. I settled for (was lucky actually) and found a '91 GMC Fullsize Jimmy (just like a Chevy K5 Blazer but made by GMC) with decent mileage and bare options for only 1500.00! If you shop around, there are steals like this around! AND to tell you the truth, I don't miss my 944S much at all as I get a kick out of driving such a monster of a truck.
