My 89S2 - the brakes squeel only at low speeds - like 0-2 mph as I am coming to a complete stop. Very high pitched. Not sure if they have audible sensors on these cars - only 15k miles and the PPI showed pads at 9/32 front and 11/32 rear about 3000 miles ago when I bought it. Thanks!

Vince, try washing the between the pads and rotors (stick a hose in the wheel), or get goin fairly quickly and stomp on em to clear out whatever is in there... my geuss is it's just brake dust... you'll get a black stream of water coming from the wheels...
if you don't like those squeals, DO NOT PUT RACING BRAKES ON YOUR CAR EVER!!! just sayin... I put some racing pads on my car... I deafen dogs 3 miles away when I hit the brakes... old people hide, children cry, it's like the world is ending around my car...
Side note: squealing brakes does NOT mean they are bad... grinding does... not to mention, your car has sensors that will let you know when the pads need replacement. I wouldn't be worried one bit... it's more of an annoyance than anything.

I havd Pagid S (The S stands for squeal..
) on the rears. A little brake compound will lessen the squeal, wipe a little on the inner and outer faces of the rotor and rerun the bedding in process.
FWIW no squeal sensors like GM has- just the warning light.

Solved my squealing metalmaster pads on OEM rotors (after 2 annoying years) this way:
Take pads off, take caliper off spindle, clean the **** out of everything with brake cleaner, wire brush and scotchbrite pads. Lubricate all sliding sufaces with moly brake lube, stick Weltmeister anti-squeal pads on all 8 pads, squealing GONE! Now all stops are stealth, street or track.

The head wrench at my favorite Porsche dismantler told me the squeel comes from new asbestos-free pads on old rotors. He told me that resurfacing the rotors would solve the problem, but my rotors were too thin to resurface so I got new rotors. They still squeel, though I'm using used pads. Basically it's been a PITA trying to shut it up and I don't see victory anywhere in the near future. I would try what JDeitz suggested - I've heard the metalmaster pads are the quietest. HTH
