I think I will chime in on this one.
Selling the car whole, you will get more money if you replace the aftermarket stuff, with the stock parts, and selling the aftermarket parts seperate. I part out on average 3 wrecked 944 every year. I only part out the wrecked ones. I have never, and never will, part a good running car. These cars are starting to thin out, and if folks keep parting good running cars, just for the extra dollar, it will get worst.
One another note, if you have never parted a car, or only 1 or 2, it takes a lot of time, and a lot of space. I usually only take the parts off as I sell them. A whole car takes a lot less room, than all of the parts stacked in the garage on the floor and on the shelfs.
If the car was closer to me, I would be interested in buying with the stock parts.
One more note, we did a little study on how much aftermarket parts add to the value of the car. It usually ends up being not much, if just a little.
I know of a car local, 88 951, that the guy paid 10.5k for the car. Had almost everything the Lindsey makes added on by a pro shop. He has almost 20k in receipts. He is probley about to sell it for 15k.
