Default think i will get more parting it out?

i am debating if i can get more money for the car just parting it out then trying to sell it as a whole. I might try coming up with a excel spread sheet with all the parts on teh car and see how mcuh i can get for everything.

Parting what out, hopefully not your car?!? A 951?

But in Rennlist vulture tradition, I get first dibs on the exhaust if you are selling it! PM me.

Yes he is talking about his 951.

From what campeck has told me, a decent parts NA will fetch 4-5k I believe. So figure that, plus whatever you have in upgrades/turbo parts.

But believe me.. it IS a lot of work/time.

You *earn* more parting it out. It's hard work.

I would take the nice goodies and swap them for OEM if you still have them and reprice the car. Subtract that from your asking price as the car sits now. Figure out where you come out selling the goodies. Never part a good running car just because no one will pay for the upgrades you made. Your car deserves better than that IMHO.

i believe the same thing it would be a shame to part it. i decided i am not though so i will let you know if anyone wants to buy the upgrades off of it.

If you're going to part it, let me know, I'd be more than willing to swap out my stock turbo stuff for your turbo stuff. Why are you thinking about parting it?

Ask campeck. I'm not making this up, they have a spreadsheet of all this. it's not that unheard of. This is counting the engine, transmission, suspension, etc.

I've sold at least 1k in parts off of a half stripped 944 that was in a wreck, and i sold none of the interior, and none of the suspension, nor engine, nor tranny, and most of what i sold was in crappy shape.

I've parted out VW Scirocco 16v's and made $5-6k on them. Far more than what I would've gotten for the car whole...

part out the aftermarket stuff, buy a replacement 951 engine to put in the car, call it a day.
