hahaha... the photo doesn't show the back side as well... If anyone wanted to buy a set of covers, I have a set.
I think those are the least of his cars worries though.

One day, you will wish that you had belt covers on. I am VERY glad i do have them on, and they need 5 mins to take off anyways...........
Anyways, it is you're car, you're money and you're view on things

Not sand, engine bay is spotless.
I don't see the point though, spending 5 mins on removing the covers for that extra safety and piece of mind. What is it? are you that lazy?
That 'cheap ***' belt cover saved me from spending $2,000+ on a new cylinder head, since the ps lines busted and spilled fluid all over the place.
No need to get offensive, everyone has an opinion and i respect that. Like i said, it is you're money, you're car and you're perogative to leave the belt covers off (or anything else for that matter).
PS: when that day comes, you can keep the $10, you would need ever cent you have if that belt snaps/slips from the environment

ok. ill give you the low down on my reasoning.
belt covers on:
dirt STAYs in the belt covers
water can splash up the belt covers into the filter box through tube = hydrolock
MANY cases of belts going bad because you couldnt see them and didnt look
seals leaking and you not knowing it
the actuall cover BREAKING and shredding the timing belt to peices
the BB belt breakign and tangling the T belt
No belt covers:
rocks could jump in.....(after having driven my car for 2 years and rallying the car on gravel/dirt roads...seeing ditches....and all sorts of terain..and STILL having the belt intact says enough to me that the angle is pretty much impossible)
you say it saved your belts. but understand. if the belt covers were OFF....you would have seen the belts soaking in oil...and changed them. simple...
slowly but surely ppl are joining the dark side. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Note:
No traces of dirt, sand or anything else was found inside the belt covers, since there are TWO plugs that Porsche used for this very reason.
