Default Touch up paint is discontinuted

by Porsche in my stone gray color.

AAARGGH!

Suggestion,
Since S&H is more than the paint I think, and it is not an urgent item, should we get a local group buy on different color tubes and divy them up at the next Rutts Hut meeting?

Speaking of Rutts Hut..... Pick a saturday guys.

Tom, try paintscratch.com. I've been buying touch-up from them for several years now, the quality is excellent.

if you go to an autopaint store, i think if you give them the paint code, they can make you some touch up paint. im not certain on this but i think they can

Luckily my Alpine White is a VW color too...Duplicolor still makes it.

Rutts sounds like a good idea. Maybe early October - nice cooler weather, hot dogs, and Porsches!

Paintscratch is expensive, but matched my Zermatt Silver car's paint color pretty well.

Ha! Finally, there's a good reason to have a Guard's Red Porsche! (Porsche still makes a Guards red car!!)

Regarding Rutt's Hutt: I know, I know - why don't we schedule it THIS weekend - the NNJR PCA is holding their annual "Porscherama" at Pocono International Raceway. I mean, why brake tradition and schedule a GTG that doesn't fall on some significant NNJR date?!?

That said, sometime in October would be great! (I do have a Shenandoah DE sometime in the middle, though...)

I had an issue with the PaintScratch paint - it never seemed to harden fully, and the metallic seemed to separate wierdly. Was this just a low temperature issue ?

Maybe, or an issue with how that batch was mixed. I've used their touchup on three different metallics (2 Porsches & 1 Mercedes).
For those unfamiliar with Paintscratch.com, you input by Make & MY, it displays all the factory paint codes + samples for that year. You can then buy traditional touch-up bottles with the brush applicator, as well as aerosol & cans of various sizes for larger projects. I've used both the touch-up as well as aerosol.

Rub it in why dont ya! Two years ago last week!!!

I used tomatoered rustoleum on my red 944. by the rocker at the bottom of the fender where the stones wore out the red and the white primer was starting to show. too small to notice color matching, and it was done two or three days before the thiefs got it so i cant tell how well it held up.
