Exclamation Where are all the 944s?????? W/pics!

Why is it that no 944s ever show up to PCA events in the DC area? On a regular basis, there are a couple at autocross or the track, but rarely do i ever see any at other events.

I was the only 944 at this weekends display AGAIN! Come on guys, someone has to want to come by! I was surrounded by 911s!!!!!

Give me time and I'll be showing up. I am registered in the region but untill this past week I haven't had something to drive other than the GTI.

Yeah... the 924 you saw PROBABLY was once red... they like to fade if people don't wax them every other day.... (ask me how I know.... )j

I try to get to events, but my car has tried to be a pain in the *** this week, thus eating my event funds into the repair the car funds... I had to get an entire new set of front brakes, minus complete calipers... I'm gonna rebuild em...

No no, i know what neglected Guards looks like. THis wasn't that orange, this was fresh metallic orange! Similar to Coral Red, or a darker burnt orange color.

The Potomac 944s are doing what Porsche built them to do - they are running at the track. Far from 'a couple' at Potomac track events, the 944 is extremely well represented. Last weekend at Summit Point we had 20+ 944 variants running, in every group from Green to Red.

Outside of Potomac PCA, the 944Cup series is based right here in the greater Washington DC area, and Summit Point is the series' home track. The series runs VIR, CMP Kershaw, Watkins Glen, and Daytona [last year]. This dedicated 944 race series regularly draws fields of 25 + race prepared 944s.

There are PLENTY of 944 enthusiasts in this area. Maybe less polishing that you might like, but plenty of serious 944 guys doing some great driving.

Our region (OVR) has a lot of 924/944/951/968 cars at every event. As a matter of fact, P3 (mostly 944N/A and 924N/A stockish cars) is the largest class at most every autox event anymore. I am also willint to bet that at Dan's (XSBOOS90) driving tour next weekend, the waterpumpers will be out in force (me included).

it seems like 1/4 of the people on rennlist live in your region or close enough to be considered in it. I too am disappointed with the number of 944's at any event.

Ohio seems to have a huge influx of Porsche cars, the largest being the 944 series. I really don't have any idea as to the reason why that is. Today, for example, I saw 8 p-cars during my 45 minute cruise this afternoon to make certain all systems were "go" after I got the car down off jackstands.
