As you all have surely heard, all of the gas in Atlanta is gone. Surely it won’t be more than a few days until all of the gas everywhere is gone. We are really only weeks away from Mad Max becoming a reality. Or Water World if you believe Robert Kennedy Jr. I am here to save you though. Up for sale is the last gas in Atlanta. By the time the auction ends it will probably be the last gas anywhere. You can thank me later, but for now you must bid. Surely this gas will be worth thousands of dollars shortly, so bid early and bid often. Due to hazmat issues, shipping is not available.

gas was 2.79 for 93 octane at costco! hooray costco! of course i only got 87. same price. if they had 91 i would put it in. but 93 is pretty high for an NA motor.

Hi All,
This is my first post in the 944 forum. Considering the state of gas prices and my long commute, I'd like to get a relatively inexpensive, economical car. Problem is, I have a hard time buying an appliance, in other words the car must have character. I currently commute 120 miles a day (Santa Monica to Irvine) in my 88 BMW M3 2.5. Mileage isn't bad - about 22mpg average. The car definitely requires super unleaded.
Questions:
What kind of mileage (mixed driving) can I expect from the following cars:
1985.5 or newer NA 2 valve 944
944s
944s2
Do all require super? Do they have knock sensors?
I know parts are expensive for these cars (and they're getting old), but I'm comfortable doing all my own work. These cars seem cheap and FUN. And they would go nice with my current stable.
TIA,
Joe

N/A 944 probably slightly better gas mileage - going to depend on how you drive.
But you sure could do worse than pick a 944 or 924S for a budget car! I've been very pleased with my car, overall (except when she breaks).

pre 88 944 will get you 26-28 mpg on the road(mostly hwy some city commute) and use 87 octane gas. The 88's need higher octane.
This is however if you drive the car easy and it is working 100% Step on it to much and you will burn more.
