Default new 3" downpipe completed

I made a 3" down pipe yesterday for my new turbo. I did in my shops parking lot in a little over an hour with a crappy 110V mig welder. Bear in mind the car was not in the air when I made it. I went to the local semi truck boneyard and picked up some mandrel bent 3" and 2.5" pipes from intercoolers and radiator pipes. Nice bends plus it was all free! I'm gonna take it in and go over with the tig welder and make a few final tweaks later

just gonna wrap it up as well as a boost blanket. My stock one was coming apart on the inside no wonder I could never find the rattle that drove me nuts. This one has a T-3 flange since I went full garret turbo. Plus it won't be a direct bolt to the stock testpipe. I'm making a new one of those as well. Heck lindsey gets 359 outta theirs screw that!

From Lindsey's website:

"we headed off to the flow bench to compare both (stock & 3 inch) parts...Both pipes out flowed the flow bench, so we had to flow at lower water column then do the conversion back to 28"."

I don't konw nuffin, but if the stock pipe outflows the flow bench, somethign tells me it's adequate for most of our cars.

Yup, still a bit expensive in my book, I guess some of the cost is in the hardwear, i.e. the v-band connecton. $399 is outrageous though.

there's one about 20 mins from me. they gave me all the old tubing I wanted. 60 series detroit motors have nice 2.5" mandrel bent radiator pipes. Lots of those trucks have 3-5" pipes some even aluminum. I usually go to the truck and buy mu mandrel bends but they only go down to 3" so instead of ordering and waiting I went to boneyard and got it all
