I love it.

Next March, I'm purchasing a "daily driver" to make my 944 a "weekend car" and I'm SERIOUSLY considering the New GTI with the plaid interior, it's so pimptastic.

They are.

My light blue/gray/tan berber seats scream '80s too.

Yeah, the plaid interiors are sooo cool. I can't remember when and on what cars they were offered...

Doesn't the Silberossa (sp? - Silver Rose) have pink plaid?

Maybe, I know I've seen several turboS cars that had pink plaid...

Yep -- Silberossa cars had the "special" plaid. Pinkish plaid interior and metallic pinkish exterior. I love it! Yummie!

There were also a couple hundred US-spec 1988 944na vehicles made with grey plaid -- Anniversary edition or something like that.

My former (and Alex's current) 88 944 NA was a "special edition" with grey plaid seats. Very comfy cloth! And unique too. There were 88 944's, 911's, and 924's with the plaid interiors, as well as the Turbo S's from that year.

Yeah, it's cool. SCREAMS the 80's.
BUT!- It's no Pascha tho. My Dad's 77 924 has the Pascha black/white Op-Art interior and I'll tell ya- dont even look at it with a hangover...

So, so, so cool! I love stuff like that!

If I buy the silver '74 914 I'm looking at tonight, I'm going to get the seats recoved in some sort of light plaid like that or Alex's special edition 944. It needs it anyway, and it'll look awesome with the blue Sparco harnesses already there
