I've always loved that the mirrors fold back, but now mine is just plain ol' floppy. There's no resistence at all. Is there something inside the mount I should check? Any ideas? thanks

There's a tensioner spring in there somewhere. Read through Keith Foster's 968 Mirror install guide to see how it works...

Before you spend any money replacing broken springs or whatever, you might want to just upgrade to 968 mirrors. It is a couple hundred bucks though. But never a better time to do it than if you're going in there to spend money as they are.

Thanks a million! That was it. The threading on the inside of the post had stripped a little, so I pulled out one of the spacers on the compression spring. It was not the easiest thing to get screwed in, but I'm back on the road.
thanks again.
