That is true only of the struts from the 86 951 and 87 944 on. Earlier rebuildable struts from the 83-86 944 and 924S use strut inserts - these do not have to be cut-n-drilled like the later models.
Hm, good to know. So what he has (and what I have) are *not* what I described? I'm confused I do know I didn't have to do any cutting or drilling to put mine in...I pulled out the "insert" I guess it's called, dropped my konis in, and threaded the cap and spacer on. What did I describe earlier then? Whatever...they're in the car, that's all that matters!
