I can't believe how tired I am; I forgot to list the mods!

Here we go:

Completely rebuilt AMW 951 engine with ported polished and O-ringed head, knife edged and perp-drilled crank, coated pistons, WideFire HG, lightened flywheel, SFR stage 2 turbo and MAF, Linsey fuel rail w/ dampener and 3 bar AFPR, Lindsey crank breather, SFR hard pipes, GURU chips, venturi and cycling valve delete, TiAL 38mm wastegate, HKS EBC, ARC II, Zeitronix wideband O2 with boost sensor and EGT, AIR splitter, GT racing bumper, 968 mirrors and door handles, vented nose panel, euro fogs, Paul Gaurds torque biased LSD with hardened 1st and 2nd gear, new clutch, slave and master, Griffin radiator, Bursch test pipe, thermal wrapped headers, Laust 5 port manifold, and a few other things I can't remember. Loads o' fun!

If that is your gal pal on the header her look totally goes with the car.

Some people collect oil on canvas, others watercolors galore, even others rugs a bronze or ceramics and more.

But not me you see. Art for me is enamel or lacquer on steel or fiberglass with rubber on aluminum. Lets not forget the octane rush that makes me gush and turns my insides into mush.

My mother said to me in front of my wife that when she goes she wants me to take whatever i inherit from her and buy another sports car.

Congrats on the trophy. On the wall in my office some years ago was the cover of smoke signals (the pontiac club magazine) with a picture of my firebird on it. Others had their law degrees etc. hanging. my law degree, cpa certificate etc are all in a nice pile. anyone can do that in my opinion. taking trash and turning it into art that wins a trophy or cover spot, now that takes talent and determination.

Wow! The only Porsche on the face of the earth that has pulled off pinstripes that well just got even better! And the story behind it is quite touching.

Good work Michelle!

Miichelle,

I'm honored. You have done a wonderful job, I'm sorry I wasn't there to see your car in person. I think it is a great tribute to your Mom!

Michelle,

You've done a super job, congratulations. I am sure your mother would be very proud.

Tom, my mother said almost the exact same thing to me that yours did...

The wonderful thing about this kind of memorial is that you will spend so many happy times with your car, and those times will always be linked to happy memories of your mother.

Thanx all. The after pics are crappy; it was getting dark and it slowed the shutter speed. I'll post some better ones tonight.

I'm getting ready to do a clutch job and front reseal on my '87 924S. Noticed you pulled the engine out the top (ala Detriot Iron). Any problems doing this as oppossed to the factory recommended method?
