So I go out to my car this morning to go to work and I find that someone egged my car....

This is getting rediculous... The cops won't do anythign about it and my insurance company says they will fix the paint, but I dont even think it is worth the 500 dollar deductable and then having my premium raised...

If you wash it off fairly quickly it shoudl be ok.. I think you can get it out with some cleaning compounds or something. Make sure you wash it off asap

Get or barrow a video camera maybe you can catch the perps in the act and give it to the police. It is sad people just dont have any regard for personal / privite property anymore...

If you don't wash it off the second it goes on, there will be damage.
I have seen the results on many different time frames.

Mine still has a scar(classic burst pattern at impact point).
I have to look at it everytime I put gas in the car!!!

someone egged a car in front of me while doing 45 mph. The shell and some egg went inside my car and all over my rear hatch area!

It took me 2 hours to remove the egg back there and I still have some spots left over. Couldn't see who threw the egg though since it was too dark. Rest assured if I ever hear someone shooting their mouth off about egging a car on the street I was on that same night, they will lose the ****ing arm they used to throw it. Count on it.

As for your predicament. I'd wait outside to see if they do it again, with a camera. Take pictures of them for evidence. bring it to the police. OR.... You can chase them down with a baseball bat and bust their mother****ing heads open and watch them cry like whiney bitches...

Violent, aren't I? This is why nobody messes with my car.

Yeah, you really need to be quick about cleaning it off. I learnt the hard way

MGMarsh, where in DB are you?

Also, what about the composition of the egg causes problems with the paint? Would a "paint nourisher" like Zymol possibly help reduce the effect?

Yeh I washed it off this morning at the local car wash with a high pressure nossel, but it cracked my paint, so when i washed it chips were coming off the rear bumper. Insurance will repaint the rear, but it really isnt worth just doing that part of the car.. I will just wait and repaint the entire thing one day ... All original too, its so sad people will not respect others property..

I am living at Windy Pines Apt in daytona, basically right behind the Volusia mall accross from the race track. This means that the area is very low income... so i have to be careful.

There exist inwardly jealous sociopaths, who cannot stand to see one's success in any way, shape or form. I'm afraid if I ever caught one egging ANY car for no apparent reason....I'll be after them like Buford Pusser, with a Billy Jack attitude. Eggs and enamel paint jobs=a fate worse than parking under a tree full of indigested, bleeding Pigeons.
