And this guy had a neat intake set up for his 951 that Campeck might like for his NA "cold air" project.

That looks absolutely horrible. It appears as though something is broken.

Form over function = rice.

I think the guy whose intake I posted put down mid 300's for HP and high 300's for torque with a mostly stock engine and Vitese stage 3 kit. Another guy, Dan's ringer, brought a 951 with a 3L S2 block and 968RS 8V head, tons of other mods worth thousands more dollars and didn't do too much better; around 410hp and 390 or so torque. But remember it was hot and humid and rainy all day yesterday.

There is exceptions to that, a general blanket statement is bull $h!t. If you look at what I'm building and my previous comments in other threads, I agree, function over form. However, there is a difference between band aids and actually building something correctly. If he wanted to go cold air correctly, and put the filter down where he put it, it'd be much better to have it extend under towards the horns, and then put a sealed intake up against the bumper near the brake ducts, filtering in cold air from there, like all the ricers do, oh wait that's right, cold air intakes ARE for ricers. You arent gonna see jack for gains, despite what some will believe.

He said he put that little duct where it is to help prevent turbulance at the filter.
