Default are the 1989 944's worth more?

Someone offered me over $1,000 for what I paid for my 89 944 n/a last night and I am considering taking it. I am going off to college and wont be able to drive her for four years anyway. I have an 89 n/a with 116k miles on it. Its not in great shape cosmetically but I have over $16,000 worth of receipts and mechancically it is flawless. Should I sell it for $4500? thanks

They are definately worth more. The 2.7 head especially is worth big money alone to turbo people looking for big valve head. Only made for one year, they are rare.

Have you ever had a p-car while living in college??? Unless you go to ivy league school people are usually jealous and will screw with your car. In Rutgers parking lot cars get keyed, tires get popped if they're nice and it looks like ppl have money to spare. I have a friend who drives an E30 M3 to school which WAS mint before it got keyed, egged and side swiped all in less that 3 month. College parking lots are the worst and if your love your car you're into a lot of stress.

You bought an '89 NA for $3500 and put $16K into it and want to sell it for $4500? You are kidding right?

yeh I've had my 944 for 2 years now at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University here in Daytona. The worst that has happened is morons banging my doors with theirs. Other than that, people just think im rich. ^^

I live in philly and work in the ghetto. I've never had anyone so much as put a fingerprint on my porsche.

You're being paranoid IMO.

No, the PO spent 16k on it. Luckily all I had to do was change the fluids and a few electrical problems.

Working in the Ghetto and parking your car overnight on college parking lots are two different things, do you leave your car overnight in the ghetto like people living on campus do?. I'm not paranoid i'm just giving you info. based on what happened to my friends and my car. You just cannot understand do ya?

yes they ARE worth more. i was offered $9,000 for mine earlier this year but declined. i did a complete engine rebuild with it. those damn 2.7 valves all had to be bent didnt they

oh and this past year i took my car to college. it never got egged or keyed, but that could be because literally everyone has a m3 or g35 coupe. however, it did get egged in front of my house last month.

I have it at URI, which is a fairly rowdy school (if you have watched the news after the sox lost two years ago to the yankees lol) and nothings ever happened. I think most people don't evenr ealize it's a porsche.. it also helps if your paint sucks and it is in crap cosmetic condition. I think everyone just looks at it and is like wow that kid has enough to worry about that we don't need to touch it.
