Default Rennlister moving to Wash. DC / Northern VA

Hey Guys:

I'm leaving Boston this weekend and moving to DC / Northern VA for Grad school at Georgetown. Since I'm new to the area, I'd like to meet other Rennlisters in the area--especially to help keep the S2 up and running! (wife is threatening to sell it if I can't keep up the maintenance as a poor student).

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

Cheers,
Chase

I'm here, and I'm not afraid to turn wrenches. Especially on someone else's car!

Welcome to the area... beware of the roads (and the nuts that drive them ).

Funny story actually... I was on 66 this morning stuck in traffic and a green 944 creeped by me with the tags reading " 66 SUCKS." I was kicking myself for not having my camera handy!

Anyways, welcome, Chase. I hope to see you around. Let me know if you need a hand with the S2 or get directions to a good local shop or even just to go have a beer sometime.

Brian, Danny & Kevin:

Many thanks for your welcome! I'm looking forward to moving into the area... can't image the roads are worse than Boston, though! There are pot holes here that have been known to swallow entire Minis!

Northern VA, out towards Dulles Airport.

Figure, maybe, 45-60 minutes from Georgetown, provided it isn't rush hour.

Brian:

I'll be living in Arlington, so you won't be that far away! No need to cross the Key Bridge.

Even closer! Plus, I've got a former P-mechanic buddy living in Arlington.

Welcome to NOVA. The roads are better here, but the drivers are worse. I went to college in Boston and those pot holes are man eaters. Here it is the road construction and rocks that get kicked up by the dump trucks you have to watch out for....and the drivers

I am a stones throw away as well, about 20-minutes, from Arlington.

Hey there! Getting my MBA, so it's a good incentive to learn how to maintain the S2 on my own! (insert laughter)

Seriously though, looking forward to meeting you guys as it's been kinda lonely here in Boston as the "waterboys" are pretty spread out in the Boston area.

Radar detectors are illegal in VA, right? Are they pretty vigilante on that?

Hide the detector. Speaking of which... I, er, my buddy who doesn't live in VA, needs to get one this summer.

I work near Arlington in Fairfax. If you ever want to hang out around some Porsche guys or have a beer let me know (that's the second time I've mentioned beer in this thread, isn't it... must be that time again! haha).

hey Guys:

Do you know of a reputable place that can retrofit the AC in a 944 S2? I survived the drive from Boston to NOVA this past weekend, but it was hot hot hot in the cabin... I think the system just needs a recharge, but then again, I'm no expert... Any suggestions?

Hey! Im in the area too. Im on the Maryland side of DC however. My S2 is in the same state. Needs AC, fast! Its just tooo hot to drive a performance "sauna." I was going to use IMA Motorsports as usual. They are in VA and do great work on 944s. Highly recommended.

We will have to have a fun DC/VA/MD 944 get together pretty soon. There's a bunch of us here. I have been out of town for a while with my band, and then i decided i needed a vacation REALLY bad. (the reason i havent been on rennlist much either since June)
We have a bunch of great PCA events coming up, and the Rennlist drives are always awesome in this area. You will have plenty of Porsche fun waiting.
