I'm still willing! Just let me know when. The next couple weekends could be kind of tricky, though...

Welcome to NoVA!

I'm in Falls Church, not too far out from Georgetown.

Eric, if I'm in town I should be able to help with the engine install.

I knew there were a number of us in the area, but I didn't realize it was this many. I guess I need to head to one of the PCA events.

Cool

an a/c aside: anyone have any thoughts on my current a/c issue - https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/218580-help-needed-a-c-or-thermostat-problem-no-cold-air.html

Jonathan:
Hopefully we can get some answers for our questions! Seems like you have been waiting awhile for the AC issue...

I had my AC fixed at a Saab shop in Falls church, http://www.swedishmotorcars.com/, who did a good job of it. I went there mainly because I got a good deal since my girlfriend's sister knows them well and is in walking distance from them. If you don't need any work done and jjust need a refill pretty much any place that does AC should be able to do that.

Now to try to answer hazlgreen's question...

I am going to get my AC fixed in like 2 weeks. We should have a fall get together to celebrate cooling again from our cars!

Tony: let us know where you go, and how it all ends up! This heat is kicking my butt, and I'm only driving in the evenings... if at all!

OT: how are your studio sessions going?

I will be going to IMA. Im not sure exactly when yet, but it will definitely be this month before the PCA Reston show. I am always at that, and usually the only 944 to display.
We are all gonna get together and have an AC party! HAHA, celebrate cold air from hot cars! Its definitely called for i think. I'm thinking September!

On a side note, studio sessions are FINALLY done! We finished last week after a massive overschedule/overbudjet stretch. Sounds like working on our cars huh??
We master the CD in a week and then final packaging touches, etc... and it goes off to the plant for production. Samples from part of the CD are up on the website (in my signature). More will be put up soon.

I'm out in falls church too. If you see a silver turbo go by it might be mine. There's a burgundy one and a couple red ones around here I see pretty often too.

It's so cool to see so many Rennlisters with 944's in the area... I have seen two 944's while driving through DC in the past few weeks. It was a rarity when I was in Boston!

Hey guys: need some help on the car inspection and license registration process here in NoVa...

Got my new VA car insurance today, so that's all set. They told me that I need to do 3 things:
1. Get car inspected for safety AND emmisions
2. Go to DMV with Inspection certificate & insurance
3. Go pay my property tax for the car

Do I have the process correct?

Got some questions:
1. Any places near Arlington you recommend to get the inspection done? Can any old garage perform the emissions necessary for an '89 944 S2? I ask because in MA, I had to travel all over town to get a garage that could do cars older than '95, and the 944 was a museum piece to them
2. How is the car property tax calculated? Is it like $25 for every $1000 your car is worth?

Thanks guys! Gotta get these things done in the next few days...
