Default Nor Cal-Wentworth Springs-Loon Lake Run

I throwing a quick short notice Fun Run for Saturday the 9th. All P-cars are welcome from beaters to beauties. Read up on this old link for details: https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turbo-and-turbo-s-forum/131943-norcal-951-944-fun-run-may-16th.html
Meet in Georgetown at 9:00, get coffee, sandwiches, lunch at Loon Lake (6,000 ft), swap lies, great photo ops.

So far we have 6 cars: Me, Serge, Dan S.(blue camaro), Deni Durrell, Turbostar944, Josho

Let me know, I'm going one way or another and the company is good! Throw in Silver Fork to Mormon Immigrant Trail and back to Hwy. 50 at Pollock Pines for those with more time. Those having to be home earlier can bail at Hwy. 50 and Ice House Rd.

Here's a map of the route:

FIRST LEG
Georgetown via Wentworth Springs to Ice House Road (34 miles)

Road Description at:
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/WentworthSpringsRd.htm

Ice House Rd to Hwy 50 (34 miles)

Road Description at:
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/IceHouseRoad.htm

Back to Hwy. 50 by 12:30
__________________________________________________
SECOND LEG

Silver Fork Rd. to Mormon Emigrant Trail (17 miles)

Road Description at:
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/SilverForkRd.htm

Mormon Immigrant Trail (25 miles)

Road Description at:
http://www.pashnit.com/roads/cal/MormonEmigrant.htm

Back to Hwy. 50 by 2:30

I hope some of the Bay Area people can make it this time. Lets try to get a head count by Friday.
Cheers
Steve

We usually meet up in Georgetown at 9:00, people coming from the north areas use 80 and hwy. 49. Grab coffees and a sandwich at the deli there and lunch up at Loon Lake Picnic Area. Good parking lot and photo ops. You can meet at my house at 7:15 and we can meet others coming from the South at the Ramada parking (SE corner of Hwy. 50 and Sunrise Blvd) lot at 7:45 if they want to caravan to Georgetown. I''ll be in touch with more info as the thread is finalized. It's really a great run with cooler wheather.

Josho-
You round 944's are more than welcome. I'm not trying to hijack your thread it's just I have made many runs in the lower foothills and a hot Summer day can get tough on drivers. Pass the info on to the 968 board and see what they think.

Steve

I just blew my head gasket, so I might hitch a ride with someone going up from the SF area.

Deni, let's hijack your bros M3 for the afternoon.

I'm trying to get hold of him. Brad hasn't checked in yet either. There's couple of people that just don't post anymore like H20 pumper, darius jucas, to name a few. Glad to hear you are in and got a hall pass for Saturday

So far it's me, Serge, Dan S.(blue camaro), yourself. Any of your local GV road warriors interested?

I'll have to see........and no "guarantees" here, I've been doing a lot of Porsche stuff lately. My hall pass hasn't been "stamped" by the teacher (my wife that is...).

LOL-There's at least 3 people with similar comments here...if it isn't one woman giving us the look for spending too much time with the car it's the other one with the Porsche crest that gets cranky at the worst times...I see why bigamy was outlawed.
