Default Battery for the lighted key

My 89 S2 came with original batteries for the lighted keys - Varta V624U - does anyone know what the comparable US battery would be or where to get replacements?

They cost $1.80 at pelican parts. You can also do a search on the LED key light conversion, which uses components from radio shack and costs under $10. I just went with the original battery and cleaned up the contacts -- the light is now plenty bright for me.

Do the LED mod!! Better light, better button feel...makes the key head a mini flashlight!

I've searched using 'LED key light conversion' but nothing comes up as far as I can tell.

This was buried in one of the above links - http://www.arnnworx.com/PorscheWebPa..._light_fix.htm
It works great and takes but 5 minutes, even for a five thumb like me!

I had ordered a couple batteries from Pelican before I got the news on the LED mod and they came in today. I'll bring them to the Porsche fest for anyone to have as the LED is just too cool and bright relative to the original light.

I am unable to get my engine bay light to work even with a replacement bulb though.

Ask Triscadek about this.. Make sure the lights are ON before troubleshooting the under hood light..
