Default Cruise Control Removal...

Hey all - curious as to how many have removed the cruise control. I was cleaning up some wires/lines in the engine bay and had the cruise box off and was like I dont need that thing - I never use it.

Is it somehow connected to the accel pedal? Do I just need to pull the wire through the firewall and unhook the connector? (the one that runs across the manny into the cruise box)

Thanks...

The accel pedal has a lever assembly that connects to the body close to it. The cruise motor keeps the tension on the cable which in turn moves the accel pedal. All of that can be removed. The cable is attached to the lever assembly via a rubber grommet that is a PITA to remove. Once you free the cable from the lever assembly, you'll be able to push it through the firewall. Take your time and you'll get it.

Sam - If you'd stop working on projects on that car you could have it ready for this weekend ;-)

I dont think its ready - one of the wheels is off to be resealed and straightened...I did get the oil changed though today haha

unsigned - It will eventually be a DE car, lots of things to address before that happens Im afraid.

Sam,
Check out the 944 Turbo section and search "cruise control delete". There was some good info and pictures which really helped me out.
