Default 968 modeled 944 tailights

after being accused of not having enough smarts to modify tailights but thinking im smart enough to turbocharge an NA Ive decided to take up the challenge.
hopefully soon to come will be an all red 944 taillight that lights up in the corosponding color. like the 968 tailights.

leadfoot expect some pm's from me.
and any pics of the inner working of the 968 tailight would be appreciated.
i think it was a clear lense with the stripes in the color you wanted portrayed on the inside of the red lens?

and also. untill its done. anyone know how to "undull" the testors candy apple red?
I got off my *** today and painted my lights.

Yes! I've wanted this for a long time. If there's anything you need help with, send me a PM, we'll discuss it and hopefully I'll have somewhat of an idea of what I'm talking about...

You will probably want to install a lense in between the existing lenses.
so I guess you will dremel the black back/reflective bulb holder off.
Find some yellow plastic, clear or white plastic cut to fit and wedge it in between. On top of those lenses I guess(though may not be necessary) you will lay a clear with red stripped vinyl sticker over the replacement lenses.
That should get you what you are looking for...sounds like fun..post picts of your progress.....

yes. Im a very special boy ...... the po did that and i never really wanted to take it off.
justify it. how about a turbo?

so. for the turn signals it looks like the 968 have a whire bulb....then after the bulb they have a yellow plastic lens thats translucent with opaque red stripes. (i would think that would be it...) but then after that they have the red out lens? i can do a couple of test lenses i geuss to clear that up. the pisture in the old thread is kind of confusing.

These won't look as good as Geoff's Altezza lights. They're tight !

Take a look at the way the early 928 tail lights are. They would be a lot easier to modify as far as the way the colored lense separates from the reflective housing...no help to you I am sure, but that is probably the way you will want to create your 968/944 tails.
