Default Change Cookie Cutters to Phone Dials??

I already listed this topic in the wheels and tires section with no response.
So here it goes!!
I have an early 85 944 with original Cookie Cutters on it.Nice shape with new 215-60-15 tires.
I have purchased a set of 4 Phone Dials with 225-60-15 on them.
I have spend numerous hours polishing with Mothers.
I was ready to put them on Saturday.
I slipped them on and a perfect fit as far as the holes were concerned!!
I tightened up the lugs all the way and they are not tight on the drum.
What size spacers due I get for them??
The Cookie Cutters look like they have spacers permenently mounted on them from the factory.
What are the exact sizes for the spacers that I need to purchase??
8MM or 13MM??
Thanks!!

That's strange, I swap my CC's and PD's all the time on the 83 with no problems at all. All you sure a spacer isn't just stuck to the back of the CC ?

there are two type of phone dials.

They come in 23.3 mm and 52.3 mm offset. You need the 23.3 mm offset style. They should be stamped on them some where.

Note that the rear should have a spacer on the hub (this slides off). The front does not.

Here are a couple pics

That may be the case!!
I took the Cookie Cutter off the back and I assumed that the spacer was affixed to it.
I will try and see if I can pop it off with a flat tip.
I feel kind of "Dumb"now!!
Will try it tommorow if weather cooperates. Thanks!

don't need any spacers if the phonedials are early offset... do they have a lip on them or do they stick out?

On the inside they have stamped 7x17x23.3
I guess that answers my question about the back wheels.
Must be the spacer is stuck on the Cookie Cutter and I should only have to pop it off the rim.
Someone stated that there are spacers on Back only and not front??Thanks!

The steele suspension cars had factory spacers on the rear only. The early offset cars with aluminum suspension did not.

As other have said, the early (83-85.1) cars came with spacers on the rear from the factory. Over time that spacers has attached itself to the wheel. I just took a small section of 2x4 and a hammer to loosen them.

An 87 924s would have the late offset...52.3 mm.

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread but, does anyone want to trade a set of 16" late offset phonedials for a an early offset CC or Fuchs in 15"? I'll entertain other offers also as long as the wheels fit an early offset 944.

If this is considered selling something on the forum, I am a Rennlist member it just hasn't shown up yet on my sig.
