If your engine is already out, I'd install one. I've used their scrapers on other engines- not for horsepower, but for better oiling of my engine. Just some extra insurance, and not a large cost.

How would these function with a knife-edged crank?

Got me one of these ... test fitting it:

Hopefully I'll have the engine done in few weeks. There's a bunch of other stuff going in as well so I won't be able to say specific comments about the scraper, but I'm pretty sure it's a good additional piece to the reliable + powerful -puzzle...

Sure, how many do you need.

Please do post on 928 forum and ask same question. I'm sure your locals have them laying around. We really could use scraper. There are several 928 specific part vendors who could probably shift many of them if they only were available and you do not want the hassle of one by one shipping. Check these sites:

Ask and ye shall receive.

ITCS 17.1.4.D.1.h: Oil pans, baffles, scrapers, windage trays, oil pickups, lines, and filters are unrestricted.

So yes, they are 100% legal. That's nice for a change.

Magown, I just ordered one for my new 951 last week. So they're available. Price is $69.95 I believe.

Kevin Johnson (of C-S.com) was great to work with. Had my order shipped out within an hour or two of me putting it in!

Excellent - thanks, George! A prevention measure that may also be worth some power - wow, who'd a thunk it would be legal.

Funnny thing about that rule - I think I have all of them covered... modded oil pan, S2 baffle, scraper, modded windage, modded oil pickup, and CM filter. Maybe there's some worry about crankshaft oiling in the 944?

Hehe. No doubt. I've even added an Accusump to that list.

Good to see you around here again. You've been scarce lately.

Really? I have been posting every day.

So, (thread hi-jack in progress) should I even ask what happened to your car?
