My 944S is being repainted , original color, and I just had to show it off, I have also found some 16" phone dial and had them refinished as well. Putting new Yokohama ES100 on. I also found a crack free budrgundy dash to put in, but will make that a winter project. I have the burgundy sport seats with the "PORSCHE" script in the fabric, I know its tacky, but I would like to redo my seat with the original fabric , Anyone know of a source for this fabric?

the guy that painted it took the photos using his camera, pics were taken Friday, regardless of the date, Im going to have to show him how to clean the lens first too
Not sure what the officail name of the color is, its a 1988, I just call it metalic burgundy

And if so what was the modern day paint equivalent that you used?

Yes, the paint was mixed using the original paint code, It was painted with european Sikkins paint, I know the paint is mixed using a paint formula found on the paint code, but dont know what the "official" porsche name for the color is, I will ask him tomorrow, see if his paint books give the name of the color

That looks absolutely fantastic... and it sure does look like Garnet Red Metallic. It looks like you and I have the exact same interior/exterior combo - right down to the Burgundy partial leather sport seats!
As for the burgundy Porsche script, head to: http://www.lemansoriginalfabrics.com/ And don't let anyone tell you that the fabric is "tacky" - it's by far one of my favorite details.
I can't wait to see completed pics.

Looks beautiful!
I'd love to see some pics with the 16" phonedials too! That will be a very nice looking car.

well I have so much money into the car there is no way I could ever sell it. so I figure Im this far into it I might as well go all the way. It is a high milage car, but the previous owner treated it like a baby, there wasnt even a door ding in it, paint was just faded. Other than the ususal cracked dash, the interior is great. When the engine goes ( and there is no sign of it yet) I will probably have it sent to John Anderson in Calf and have that redone too
