Default Someone broke into my car last night.... needing 1/4 window info....

Yes..... Some needle-**** broke my right 1/4 window the other night- the dumbass, redneck, took a knife & went around the outer-edge of the seal- I guess they were trying to just remove the window...? They eventually dug in & pried it (whether intentionally, or, accidentally- I'm calling accident since I'd credit the *******'s brain as being something along the lines of a BB in a shoe-box) & broke the window... I had a BUNCH of junk in there b/c I had just finished getting my horn working w/my Momo, which has been in for three years... I had been down there for several hours- went upstairs to my apt for barely an hour, came back down, &, it had been done.... what I would give to have walked out on him....

so, how much do these 1/4windows go for nowdays? used? What about the trim? Is it REALLY as easy to get them sealed well as people say? I've always been worried about t hat- I've driven brand new cars that let air leak in at higher speeds & I've had this 17-18yr old car at over 155 & I've never had the slightest bit of noise- not sure the 1/4 windows would be as prone to this, but, again, I've always wondered....

any advice on this area would be greatly appreciated....

thanks a lot,
Robby

Man.... I was so irritated while posting, that, somehow, I posted "left" when it was the "RIGHT" side- the passenger side- yes, I know my left from right- don't how i posted that- I have corrected it now... Troll- did you by any chance remove both, or, just the left? Why are they out? Are you replacing them w/something? I'm wondering if anyone's ever successfully done the 968 swap....? I know a few have talked about it... I guess now would be the perfect time if I were ever going too- or, HALF the perfect time....

thanks

I'm pretty sure I've got one here with me in Northern Va but I don't know how well it would do being shipped. Try PM'ing Todd, I think he's in your area and he probably has one, if not I'll wrap mine up tonight and try and we'll give it a shot.

Thanks a LOT guys..... that is REALLY cool.... I was so irritated eariler- we're trying to form lynch-mob in my building- we THINK we know who did it- the ****bag's broken into at least 3 cars here in the last 10 days or so- one was a friend/neihbor who's an enthusiast. ****bag got into the bed of his pick-up & did the same thing- pried the back window open- nabbed part of the stereo... I'm not happy about losing my amp either- it was really small & lightweight for a 4-ch- it was ~15yr old ADS- can't get another like it- not the best amp in the world really, but, still- might try to find something better... anyway... you guys chiming in to help like this really makes me feel better- that's really cool- there are so many POS's in the world, it's nice to be able to run into some good people every now & then....

Can anyone recommend a nice, simple, effective car alarm...?

thanks a lot everyone,

AznDrgn- which Todd anyway? do you know what city/state? Knoxville is ~3-4hrs from Atlanta & there a re a lot of people there- Charlotte is ~4-5hrs away, so.... Also, is Harrisonburg close to Norfolk? I bought my car in Norfolk October 13 1999... I like the area....

I have the RH rear 1/4 window from a Turbo S, you can have it for the cost of packing and shipping. They are not valuable so you might be able to find one locally too. Sorry to hear about the breakin. I hate the idea of having to worry about that sort of thing.

Robby,
I think he means me. I have several from the parts cars. I don't even take them out of the shells anymore!!! If you can't work something out with the other folks, send me your address, and it will be on it's way for the cost of shipping.

Hey, quick question... I might even start a new thread on this, but.... what are people doing about their hatches nowdays? I mean, when the glass starts to pull away from the frame? I had heard of some people doing some sort of fix that involved glue, a BUNCH of clamps, &, tons of patience & possibly ability.... I'm wondering if I can do something about mine.... it's not bad, yet, but, would like to fix it BEFORE it becomes a problem.... I've never done things that way before & am thinking it MIGHT be a good idea to try for once...
