HOOORAY!

If I only had the time and free funds to pull this off before Nelsons Ledges in 2 weeks!

I think you will have an order on your hands soon...

And don't you need 16" rims for the 951 brakes as well?

Joe, if you need such large brakes (or ability) why would you still want the 15" wheels? FWIW, if you have an early car no you dont, the 15" PDs will clear the the stock Turbo calipers.

I think it is great what Travis has done but you will have a hell of a hard time convincing me there are more than about 5 people here who have any need for it.

Absolutely correct, at least 16s. That's another good point on the benefit of the Rennbay kit for stock 944 NAs.

You do want to run the smallest wheel your rotors and calipers will allow. The only reason to increase wheel size (and also unsprung weight) would be to accommodate larger brakes. If you could run 15" wheels on an 86 turbo, I would have 15x8 fuchs on all 4 corners of mine.

Matt, it seems as if you have some personal issues with upgrading the NA brakes. You might want to go see a psychologist about that. It looks like it could turn into a pretty serious condition if it persists. Do you even own an NA?

Sorry Matt, but I think you're way off here.

First of all as you know I think there is a market for good performance parts for the NA. Second, what does a rebuilt caliper and a set of pads cost for a NA 944 (I don't know)? Could turn out to be a great deal.

Do these use an OEM/Stock Prosche brake pad? If they use the NA pads there's no advantage. Maybe I missed it somewhere but I didn't see a brake pad size.

These use special Polymatrix pads. These pads are much larger than the stock NA pads and have around 18 square inches of pad / rotor contact area per caliper.
If you look on the brakes page, on the right, you will see the discounted pad sets that you can purchase at the same time as the kit. The other two links below go directly to the pad sale pages so you can learn a little more about each compound that we offer.

Some early 951s came with 15" PDs from the factory...

I was just making a point. If I were to put down nearly a grand on brakes, I certainly wouldn't keep the stock wheels.

Come on dude, its not that bad. Remove caliper, remove hub/rotor, unbolt the control arm and the 2 bolts to the strut.

Oh, decisions, decisions..... I'm imagining my late-year 944 as an auto-X/street (city street) car and it seems to make sense to keep smaller diameter wheels for that purpose, though that's another point of debate.

Just as a data point, I recently had a set of TurboS calipers rebuilt by someone -- it costed me $200 for the pair. And add to that the cost of new pads.
