The mount up points are not the same from front to rear. The rears are a little wider spaced and provisions have to be made to clear the hub.
We may make up some rear setups later on but right now I don't feel that they are necessary.

I am running the 86na right now with the stock calipers in the rear with these in the front. The car seems pretty balanced and its not grabby at all. if you felt like fine tuning the pressures you can always grab one of those adjustable bias valves. I have one on the shelf that I was going to put on but as of now, I have not seen the need. If I do come out with an upgrade for the rear as well then it may see some use.

Sorry Travis, I wasn't trying to suggest there would be balance problems with these calipers. However, with 6 pot I think there is a very good chance.

lol, I was just slow replying to something a few posts up. Put it in before I even read yours.

You are correct though. Going with a 6 pot or even 8 pot would not only cause bias problems, you would have to use a larger master cylinder to handle the added volume. Thats one of the reasons that the 4 pot series in this particular size was chosen. Their displacement is well within the range of the stock MC.

6+ pistons is absolutely unnecessary. Braking mainly depends on your tires, and even stock brakes can lock up the tires at speeds. The main benefit of these is the added heat dissipation due to a larger caliper size = longer time before your brakes fade.

Just as an example, the new M5 has TWO piston calipers. This is not meant to discredit Travis' product - I think it's great!

For what it's worth, I've been in Travis's 86 when he's hammered the brakes and they are very very strong. It's like night and day from the stock NA brakes.

are these dynalite calipers? i've been running 4 piston dynalites with 11.7" rotors (big brake upgrade kit) on my wagon for track use (200whp and 7" falkens on the fronts required better braking)

We are using the dynapros, the next step up from the popular dynalite that you have there. These incorporate a stress flow forged aluminum body and the one clip pad retainers so pads can be changed with the calipers on the car. They are also a bit bigger than the dynalites.

Travis that is friggin fantastic! Just what I hoped would come out. They are definitely on my list to get, after a clutch. Mine is slipping in the Callaway due to being overpowered, hence I turned the boost down to 0.5bar. Again great job!

In reply to Serge..

[Just as an example, the new M5 has TWO piston calipers. This is not meant to discredit Travis' product - I think it's great!]

Most people I know who regularly run BMW M cars ie E46 M3's on track, regard the brakes as a week point. A lot of people up grade the calipers to Porsche 4 pots or similar. One UK based car magazine found the new M5's brakes to be fine on road but after a couple of laps of a race circuit they quickly over heated.

The 6 and 8 piston calipers have been in use on 944s for some time. As Sam mentioned they have no dust seals so they need rebuilding often. THUS, my question. I could give two craps less about a 400 dollar MC upgrade (btw, I dont think it is needed at all, but to each his/her own). Just make it work
