Default weekend drive: Run for the hills! (LARGE p1x0rZ)

Last weekend I decided to backroad it up to Tahoe, so I took twin cities out of Galt, up to Plymouth and stopped at the nuke plant for a photo-op.

then Fiddle Town Road to you guessed it, Fiddle Town. From there I took Shake Ridge Road to 88.

I was going to take Mormon Emmigrant Trail over to 50, but it needs to be plowed.

I continued up 88 to Kirkwood and really wanted to rent some skis. I hopped back on the road and took 89 to cut over to South Shore. Then I cruised up ski run road to my favorite winter hotspot, Heavenly.

Its not orangepeel, its a Monet

Then I headed for home, el fin.

So Dan,
How did you like Shake Ridge Road going uphill? It's one of my favorites except for the little bald headed boys with banjos on the front porches. Nice Pics. I'm down to two items on the Bimmer and can get back on the 951 tomorrow or Friday; I feel a run coming on! Wentworth Springs Road to Ice House, Ice House to 50, 50 to Silver Creek, Silver Creek to Kirkwood (lunch) and pick a route home, oh my, isn't Shake Ridge Road on the way home for me? Stay tuned!

Sweet! That's not in New Jersey, is it? Actually, I proposed to my wife in Tahoe 23 years ago. But that's another story.

Beautiful. Did you like the series of hairpins on the south side of 89? Good stuff (when theres no traffic!)

Steve, give me a week or two. Oil cooler seals, belts, and welt sways need to be installed.

...But I'm sure the list will be bigger in two weeks time.

hairpins? hmm, I don't recall seeing any on 89. this was between 88 and 50. shakeridge road kinda sucked because I picked up a bunch of crap on my windshield and going in and out of the sun/shade/sun/shade/sun/shade. . . heading east at 7am made for slow/blind driving. half the cars I saw were oakies towing farm implements. . . the other 2 were CHP

So did I tell you how much I hate that road? Driving into the sun is bad but I've never met traffic there and never seen a Po-Po.

oops, I was talking about the whole trip, I saw I think 6 cars the whole way to Tahoe, and 2 of them were Chips on 88. 2 were guys on shakeridge road driving very slow (one let me by, the other didn't), and another few when I pulled over to take pics.

Last time I went up to lake tahoe is sucked! My 86 didn't compensate for the elevation change and the car barely accelerated at all (yes, even by n/a standards!).

I don't think I've ever seen a 944 S4.

Has your car taken fertility drugs and sprouted another pair of cams?
