Gee, let me think about this one, you'll go out of your way cut me off if I'm driving an SUV. Do you really think anyone wants or needs your respect with that attitude? You may cause an accident, but damn you'll be right and that's what counts. You've been driving in LA too long or something.

Well,
The 911 and Boxster guys probably don't wave cuz there pissed when they see a 944 and know it's a better car and cheaper. For one, the 50/50 balance of the 944 isn't matched by the 911. And if you're a 951 driver with any even slight mods, your car is most definately faster. So, they just see the 944's and have a nervous break down cuz there seeing a better, faster, cheaper car. And who cares anyway? If you are into your 944 because its a Porsche, you got it for the wrong reason. The reason to own one is because they are excellent car....even if it wasn't a Porsche. But, thats just my opinion and it's okay if you dissagree.

[QUOTE=Z-man]Just recently I found out that the New Beetle has just surpassed the Miata as being the number one 'gay' car.

I now consider what car I'm driving before I wave.

Z,
whenever I met you you seemed pretty happy. is everything OK? why so glum, every day in your car or your wifes car you should feel gay. now if you asked to bum a *** from me you would have things to worry about since i never started that nasty habit

I have to jump in here for a second, as this subject just pisses me off.

If you drive around metro Atlanta, it's hard to go a mile without seeing at least 1 Porsche. So it's a common occurance for me to see others in their Pcars while driving the 951. If I wave or flash lights at a 911 or Boxster or 928, do I get a waveback - ALMOST NEVER! Even the older 911s - same thing.
I can think of just a handful of situations where a 911 or 928 driver waved/flashed lights at me.

944 drivers - about half of them wave. The other half...well, I just don't know about...

i had a guy in a Black GT2 on I-5 speed up just to give me a hello..Great car and he was a nice guy. Boxster owners I believe just buy that model because they cant afford a new Carrera anyways and are mad that they spent all that money on a chicks Porsche.

Ive stated my feelings on waving before.

Lets just say people who wave at me give me that Jim J Bullock sort of icky feeling. I dunno. Im just not a waver. I dont wave at people I dont know. That in and itself makes no sense. I dont wave to people driving Saabs, so why should it matter that you drive a Porsche too. Good for you. Im happy for you, but I have no ambition whatsoever to be your long lost buddy. The fact that we both drive a Porsche is where the similarities between you and me probably begin and end. You are probably a wife beater and embezzler for all I know.

If I know you, I'll wave. I dont have a problem with that.

Yeah, ive never gotten the point of the anti Boxster-ism so many people have. Kinda foolish IMHO.

I'm not anti-Boxster, 911 or 928.

In the South, waving is generally considered "being polite". If I'm driving around in my Porsche, and I see someone driving a P-car, my chances of waving/flashing lights depends on a few things: Is it a model I really like? Does it look good TO ME? If I think it's a cool looking car, I'll wave. I consider this as "BEING POLITE". If someone chooses not to wave, then that's their choice. However, in my experience, it has ALWAYS been the 911/928/Boxster drivers that choose to not wave back. As a result, I usually do not wave to those cars anymore unless they wave/flash first.

P-Car944,

Boxster a "chick car", huh?......... and a 944 is some testosterone laden hairy hunking beast of a brawny hunking brute of a car? Got mudflaps and a snowplow on that rig? heh, heh, SQUEAL LIKE A PIG BOY!

New Carrera's are rear engine cars, Boxsters are mid-engine cars. The Boxster is no more an entry level version of a Carrera than a 944 is an entry level version of a 928.

You guys, in a thread about waving to people , are spewing some major attitude. whattsupwiththat?

STUPID, The average SUV can not stop on a dime, you did know that right? So if they can not stop and you do what then? Well first off if you look into most SUV's you will find it has become the new mini-van. What does that mean to a narrow minded individual such as your self? Well for starters the mini-van market was mostly middle age family buyers. So in fact it is often full of KIDS. So the little jackass in the "fast Porsche" cutting off the LARGE SUV story is this. You more than likely die, which would suck for you, and the loss of another 944 would be bad, but other than that with your attitude no big loss. The saddest and true loss here is the potential for the loss of HUMAN life, which are the innocent people in the SUV (kids and adult passengers/driver) and NOT YOU.
SO why dont you go " F" OFF?
