Default Header Panel - Bolt on?

Hey Guys:

Stupid question: someone at work dented the header panel on the S2. Thinking of getting a replacement panel.

Does the header panel on an S2 bolt right on? Local shop told me it was welded on. I have no idea.

Thanks,
Chase

If you are talking about the piece between the headlights, unless the S2 is different that my 951 it is bolted on and not that difficult to get off. Let me know if you need pics and I can send you some of a panel removed.

All of the series 2 cars (including the turo and the S2) have bolted on header panels. The early 944s had welded on header panels...

Yep, bolt on. There's also a writeup on the Lindsey site under intercooler replacement.

Is the paint cracked ? if not take the panel to the bodyshop, a good bodyman should be able to repair the dent quick.

Take the Porsche crest off before the bodyman sees it

Bro... I am gonna call you. I've been to 3 shops, and gotten 3 different opinions. All varying in price too. You wouldn't believe the crap I've gotten from shop owners when I tell them I just want the spare panel painted... instead, they want to spot weld, pry, push, stick, bang, hammer, etc. the original header panel for ridiculous $$$. Cost more than the replacement panel!

Right now I'm looking for a place to paint match and then bolt it on with your help.

Thanks to all for the answers! I asked, and yes, I did receive.

Cheers,
Chase

Dude, I am looking at every truck that's parked in my work garage... judging by the height of the dents, somebody's rear rack rammed into the header panel.

And yes, the paint is slightly cracked on both indentions (they are on both sides of the Porsche crest, approximately 12 - 14 inches apart).

I'll let you know if I find the culprit!

That is pretty weak sauce. Me thinks a knife fight is in order.

LOL! Too late about the crest. Every shop I drove up to... once they saw the Crest, they gave me a reverse sale... they changed all the 6's to 9's

I think a regular beat down is enough. That, or a sledgehammer to the other person's hood. Fair is fair...
