Default KLA Coilover/Rear Suspension ?'s

86 951 -

I have KLA rear coilovers w/ 95 lb springs on the rear, with stock torsion bars. The car was sagging about an inch before installing the coil overs, and they brought it back up. I am now having an issue with the rear feeling very "bouncy". I can pucs it down with my hands in the back, and it will bounce around when i bump it. It felt way too mushy when compared to a freinds stock 951. What should i check/adjust to hopefully six this problem? Dampning? Hopefully teh KLA guys see this, as they can prob. answer it best.

TIA
Mike

Did you have to adjust the rear eccentric for ride height?

KLA uses QA1 shocks, which are single adjustable for rebound/compression. Are you sure you're not simply on the softest setting?

You should adjust for stiffness. Initially I had mine on the softess and the car was real bouncy. Mine are twelve-way adjustable. Now they are at number "6" and the car is quite stable.

Eccentric not touched, they are maxed out IIRC, i'll have to check the setting on the shocks, maybe a simple twist of a **** will fix this.

Yes. I think that should definitely take care of the problem.

yea, i'm guessing you have them on their softest setting. i set mine on 6 or 7 and they tolerate the 275 lb springs without too much bounce. i probably need 1 or 2 clicks stiffer

Heh, and I thought I was so clever when I realized I could get a complete set of rear coilovers for 400 through summit racing. Looks like lots of people have QA1s.
