WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE?!?!
Sorry for the caps with the title, but I wanted to grab as much attention as possible as I need a quick response. I am wondering what you would choose to use to clean your car on a road trip in between stops? Currently I have a bottle of Honda Pro Polish and a bottle of Meguiar's Quik Detailer. Both of these products say it is safe to spray on paint and wipe off dirt and bugs and such, so which would you bring with you? If you have another idea let me know.

If it were me - which it is not, I'd be really careful of any "spray on wipe off" cleaners. While some will lift dust and mild grime - they can't lift off heavier particles like road grime, tar and such without scratching the clear/top coat - and the rag you use to wipe it away will have these particles embedded and could put tiny scratches into the surface coat...
On the way back - stow a sponge, bucket and your favorite car wash soap - and find a random hose by the side of the road attached to an unsuspecting house

I love Meguire's products. They rock the hizz-ouse.
Besides, putting anything that says "Honda" on a Porsche is like putting a zit on Alizee's face.

When you get it home make sure to give it the scrubbing of its life. With both of mine I never really felt they were "mine" until I had scrubbed the crap out of every square inch of vinyl, paint, glass, carpet, metal, etc. on the entire car, emptied out every last crevasse and compartment, etc. You need to get that P.O. aura out of there, although driving it back a long distance like you are will probably go a long way to accomplishing that also. . .
