When standing still there's only a very very minor amount of air moving (from the constant fan being in a very low state of movement).
Yes, I have a windshield - but I'll be replacing that before long as it's marred beyond repair...but it DOES block wind!

Have you still got the original plenum cover under the hood in place? Is there a flap of some description under the inlet grille (IIRC on the RHS next to the fuse box)? I don't remember how exactly it's suposed to function, but it sounds like you have a problem on the inlet rather than the outlet?
If it seem to be a fan related thing, pull the plug out of the resistor pack on the plenum part of the heater. That should stop all of the fan function.

I have a brand new cover under the hood in place (old one broke), but I don't remember there being a flap next to the inlet grille when I put it in. I'll check that (and possibly stick some cardboard there to see what happens).
I am 99.9999% sure that it is not a fan related problem, but I'll pull the fuse or the plug from the fan and see what happens.
Any other suggestions from ppls?
TIA,
Mark

Great - I didn't get a chance to work on it last night (stayed in the office for FAR to many hours), and I didn't drive it today b/c I heard it's going to rain. Hopefully tonight when I get home I can check for the flap on the inlet grille and drive it tomorrow with something in place. If that doesn't work, I'll definatley need to compare it to something. I may also pull the console out and see if I can see where the air-flow comes from and if there is something that should be blocking it but is missing or broken.

PrerY, I'm not 100% sure it has a flap, in my mind, it just should have! See if Azn can get some pics over to you before you rip it apart. As you said though, sticking a bit of cardboard over it to see the difference shouln't hurt. Don't run the fans for too long though, something may burn out (expecting some air and not geting any and all that.....)
