Default Things we gotta get done before Fest 05'

This is a post about what we gotta get done before fest 05'. I'll start it out:

1.) Rebuild CV Joints as there starting to click
2.) Fix heat shield that is rattling
3.) Get splitter painted and installed
4.) Remove that ugly *** "Porsche" light cover that covers up where the license plate should be.
5.) Various interior clean up work I would like to do.
6.) Fix small coolant leak

What about you guys?

Try to install strobes front and back(still thinking about it) with a stealth LED windshield bluelight.
Fix what is now a significant oil leak.
Install Dan Wrays lightning and grounding kits.
Fix the idle dip
Repaint/refinish the lip spoiler
get married and try to talk my wife into going to the 944fest

1) Replace front seals to hopefully cure oil leak
2) Replace some front suspension pieces, including control arms, balljoints, and some bushings.
--2a-- Adjust my alignment so my front-pass. wheel isn't running a static camber of about -5*
3) Install A/C delete kit. Damn thing doesn't work anyways.
4) Find out how water is getting onto the rear passenger floor

My '86 had that problem once in a blue moon... I've heard that in most cases the sunroof or the rear 1/4 window is the guilty party!

#1. Find an available trailer to tow my '83 up there cause I can't pass safety to drive it!!

Danny are you reading? JK'n

Really, I have been granted permission by the almighty "Mrs. Michaelathome" to go "AND" cover for any other moss green that shows up? We had a rain delay on our first PCA event and Mrs. felt bad. Yippie! Anyone with a lm6v?? There's has got to be some or at least 1 out there? There's even a Copenhagen Blue on eBay right now which I thought was rare. They are out there I am SURE of it just gotta get them involved.

My '83 is likely to be mostly primer at that point but progress is primer right?

Dan P, is there some way that we can picture my '83 with the rest and make it look good so that it doesn't feel left out, maybe just stick it WAY down at the end of a group photo or Something ?

Oh yea, Michael.. I've got a spot for you right between Dan87951 and Winslow. She'll fit RIGHT in..

Dan, don't spend too much time on the cosmetics, buddy. You DO know all past "Grand Champions" are retired from competition. (Unless you want to strap on the dyno) Winslow, you are still eligible for the GC prize. Brad, Perry and Dan are going over in the "Past Champions" parking and won't be leeching any votes from the hopefulls.

Fortunately my car is ready, other than a quick detail. Those of you who know the car know it is more a track beast than a show car. No sense armor-all'ing the glove box liner when chunks of Hoosiers are bouncing off the front end at a buck-thirty!

As for the REST of my preparations, lets' see. 3 Hotel rooms reserved, Caterers secured. Menu still to be discussed. Deposit paid at Snow Trails, one more meeting before the event to fine tune layout and facilities. 6 piston trophies need small plaques, 3 more pistons need powder coated. 12 trophy-topper hot wheels secured (that was a lot harder than it sounds!) Porsche factory artwork secured. (3 years in the making) Framing needs priced, and completed. Dyno reserved (15 phone calls). Tent and tables/chairs reserved. Many, many pleading E-mails to sponsors to build support and donations. Bunches of Rennlist posts announcing and promoting event. What have I forgotten?

Yet to do: Arrange Beer. Wade has been rare around here lately, I don't know what to expect from him for this one. I hope to talk to him soon. Finalize menu. Sat eve will probably be Pizza, any requests for Sunday? Finish tropihes and get door prizes gathered. Finish shirt design and order and pay for 100s of shirts. Advertise, advertise, advertise. (GREAT NEWS! Autoweek is going to include a blurb about us in their "Events" Column!) Make a sticky invite post on Rennlist. Post an invite on Pelican. Make up some forms including registration waiver, voting ballots, schedules, rules, etc. Figure a way to get internet (high speed?) at Snow Trails for 944fest WEB CAM!

That is just a start. So many more thing will pop up as our weekend sneaks up.

I WISH I just had a car to wax!

PS..Thanks again, Sammy!

Main things are:
Exhaust leak and rattling tip
new front tires
Install a-pillar pod and gauges

Dan P,
If you can find a way of getting Internet access locally, within a few miles of the fest (line of sight), i can shoot wireless.
