Default Turbo 968 in June Excellence

"Missing Element: Turbocharged 968"

3.0L Turbo - 435 hp. I'm sure the guys at Powerhaus are s******ing with their 470 rwhp 3.0 951.

Anyone want to scan the article?

There's a difference between all out power and streetable power. I highly doubt 470 at the wheels for a 4 banger is anywhere near streetable (in the real meaning of the word).

I have it but I don't have a scanner. Sorry.

Definitely, and far from reliable. Near stock 951s have a hard enough time to stay together as it is.

Which Powerhaus engine are you talking about? The 968 one that David has?

The torque curve on that car (cyan) is actually pretty good. I comes on smoothly, doesn't increase dramatically so no Dr. Jekyl & Mr. Hyde personality. At 3500rpm, it's got 250 lb*ft torque, or more than a stock 951's peak torque at 4500rpm. It should be a very streetable car...

http://www.robertricciardi.com/ This is the one I was talking about.

The 968 in excellence is not built my Powerhaus, but Vision Motorsports in Irvine, CA.

"3.0L Turbo - 435 hp. I'm sure the guys at Powerhaus are s******ing with their 470 rwhp 3.0 951."

I dont like this statement...if preventive maint. has and continues to be done and its been a well serviced car a stockish 951 is not an unreliable car at all. Up the boost on a car that hasnt been kept up then yeah - but thats Captain Obvious material...

It's all relative. I'm am short next to a basketball star, even though I am 6'4.

An n/a will always be more reliable if all conditions are the same. That is that.

I fully agree with you, Sam. My 1989 Turbo is completely stock (excepting chips), and it has proven to be very reliable during the 5 years, 9 months that I have owned her.
