Wow - you guys jumped on this fast.
I didn't even have a chance to fix this portion of the thread. (Never posted a poll before - didn't know how to do it).
Crap! Now my editing screwed everything up...
1) I don't drink beer. I'm strictly a whine and cheese kind of guy.
2) I never work under the hood. First off, I might get dirty. Secondly, my mechanic, Fritz, takes care of that for me.
3) I like living dangerously - so I will use any of the following: the brake fluid reservoir, the P/S fluid reservoir cap, the area near the strut towers or the coolant overflow tank.
4) I never drink beer or any other alcoholic beverage while working on my vehicle. I'm strictly into hallucinogens.
5) The battery/ cover
6) The fuse/ relay box cover
Work bench? Interesting concept. But not one of the choices!
I often set my beer on the hood of the next nearest car in the driveway/ garage.

Garage, cars, and beer (or wine) are a must for me. My beer goes on the workbench that I can reach easily. Putting beers on the floor is conducive to spills, ask me how I know

Oh, there are a myriad of great places to serve as a beverage holder in the 944 engine bay. In fact, the idea of a glossy full-color poster illustrating this comes to mind as a great side project. I've used the compartment next to the fuse box, the exhaust manifolds (NOT WHEN HOT!), the cylinder bores, the radiator hoses. . . Damn near anything.
