Talking Minichamps 1:18 924 has arrived!

Whoa! I got my one of my models from EWA today(really fast shipping!),

It's a absolute piece of art!!! The thing is more detailed than any 1:18 model I've seen before, and even includes the sticker on the intake boot and wheel well! The craftmanship is top notch and I would suggest everybody who wants to see a 944/968 made should buy this 924 to show there is some desirabilty to making front-engined Porsches!

Wow, even the front brakes have rotor that turn and the calipers are fixed. The underside is true to life, and there are many, many, handpainted parts. I would love to see more of the waterpumper line made to this spec!

Thanks for the FYI Rich!

Wow, was just looking at the front suspension, there are real coils of metal for the springs! These are parts you can't really even see unless you're looking for them! That's a level of detail that shows they were really trying to do their best.

I guess they used production numbers not popularity and disposable income as the determining factor...
I would have thought they would have aimed at 44 first, turbo second, 68 next then 24. Just based from a profit perspective.

For the cost of the model you could buy a real one

Obviously a Euro model(no roundies at front and back-and side markers).
Like you said, they probably figure, hey we got most of the parts we need to ramp up for 44 and 51 productions now.
Looks really high quality though.
Take some pictures of the interior and tool case

sorry Rich, don't have a digital. I will have access to one next week but by then you'll probably have yours. It does have the wacky Pascha (spelling?) fabric print but only as inserts on the seats, not on the doors. If I had been doing it I would've put some different rims on it. It even has the hump for the spare tire!

They just flip up, I can either push them up by applying pressure at the back of the covers or I can dig my fingernail under the front and pull them up. This car is really cool little model, the engine is a perfect replica of the real 2.0L even has all the wires and fuel hoses. The steering wheel moves with the wheels and the center console guages even have detailed decals!
