Yup.

Once you introduce air you are in a different, big league, game. Which is why the Porsche workshop manual on clutch replacement tells you to keep the slave connected to the hydraulic line and tie it out of the way in some nook. You don't want air in there if you can avoid it.

Dan,

Shouldn't you be working on your tax return? Stop looking at Rennlist! (I've done my taxes for the year, that's the smug humming you hear in the background of this post... )

Big league air in there resulted in total drop of the pedal for me. Cure came via a 10+ year 944 mechanic that recommended gravity-bleeding (open screw, keep reservoir full, go drink coffee for about 30+ minutes), followed by power bleeder. Odd is it sounds, this worked very well and fully restored the clutch hydraulics and pedal. Seemed like nothing was coming out, but the point was to allow displacement of the air over time.

If this ever happens, it's worth trying. Worked for me.

I got a hand pump bleeder and bled the clutch from underneath. It fixed the problem for a day.

Then I noticed the tubing/hose from the resivior had a leak and needs replacing. It looks like a simple hose.

Can I get it at a normal place or do I need to order it from a speciality shop?

How does it attach on the lower end? It looks like some kind of metal clamp is around it. Any tips on this?
