Default Odometer, speedometer questions...HELP

my speedo and odometer will work erratically, and sometimes will not work at all. Is this due to a lose connection, or what? Can anyone helpo me with this or tell me how much it will cost to get fixed? any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to tell folks the year of your car.

It's not uncommon to replace a speedo cable on an early 944.

You may want to check the connections on the back of your dash. Or check to see that the gauge is seated on the 4 pins correctly.

yeah man put what car/year etc you have in your sig....go to your control panel and fill it in. its hard to diagnose a problem when you dont know what your working with.

that is electronic driven from trans...i would check for loose connections front and rear.

That is just a loose connection at the back of the pod. Pull the pod and unplug / plug the connectors in the back. You pull the pod by taking out the screws in the bezil above the steering wheel, and the ones in the vents. Remove the bezil then take out the 4 screws holding in the pod. Reach behind the pod and remove the connectors. They have little arms on them with swing out to release. Plug them back in and test. You should be good to go.

Hey I don't live near Cincy - nor is my 944 broken... However - if AFB stops by - and I'm scratching my head on a fix - I'll either call you or Travis......

But - are you offering beer - I could make it to Cincy for that????????????

John- you KNOW you are always welcome in my crib, and always a beer.

John- if you get another 944- I'll do your wiring.

BTW- I'm moving to central Cali. You have a quick trip and a sleepover from Big Sur coming sweetheart.

Kinda not related, but does anyone know how to fix an early model 944 odometer? My speedo works fine, the odometer does not
