You think people in NY/NJ share guns? I think not! That's what make Texas folk special...

I might be able to do a wrenching on Sunday afternoon (earliest I could get there would be approx. 3pm) but I have a gig on Saturday that I just booked so the shooting is out for me. I'll have to run the wrenching party past my wife...

I might even have a building for the wrenching party.....

I found one near my work that wouild be great. Air conditioned too. I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to the price just yet (rental, not buying), but I think it's probably the best deal I'll find. I'm going to do a little more looking around. Of course, if I don't get it, we can always get together at my house. Got the interior scuffed and scrubbed over the weekend.

For those of you who want to shoot but without firearms, I'll be bringing a few you can use.

The Pro Shop at ASC sells ammo, but you'll find it cheaper at WalMart, Academy, etc...

I'll have 7.62x39 (any cheap Russian ammo will do. Wolf, Silver Bear, any of the bears)
.223/5.56NATO (Winchester white box is fine. No Russian ammo )
.45acp and .40S&W (No reloads, no Blazer, no Russian)

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Josh, is there any info we need to be allowed to shoot at the center - membership or something like that?

No membership is needed. I think it's $8 per shooter. Just bring eye and ear protection (or you can get it at the pro shop). A hat is a good idea too. Stops hot brass from falling between your glasses and face.

Nobody needs to buy any 7.62x39mm ammo, because I've got a thousand rounds of that stuff and I don't have a gun for it. I'll offer it up for cheap for anybody that wants some. In fact IIRC Josh was thinking of buying me out. I'll have lots with me, regardless.

My suggestions would be pick up a box or two of 9mm and .45 at Wal-Mart. We'll have plenty of rifle ammo in all the calibers I'm bringing, nobody needs to buy any extra. You can just pay me for whatever you want to shoot. Don't worry, I'm cheap and the ammo's good, I just have too much of it.

Just don't by any "Blazer" pistol ammunition. You can't buy it by mistake, says Blazer in big letters on the box. Avoid it, we'll explain later if you want to know why.

I am in need of some 7.62, but I may not make it out there.............

Just a reminder, we are having an open machinegun shoot here in Fredericksburg on April 30th.

Shall we have the wrenching party the day after, or should I selct another date?

I just did the deal on the building today (see the Shop AC thread for pix). Handshake deal, well that and a check for the first month's rent and a security deposit. Very cool. We start cleaning this weekend and moving in on the 30th.

We'll eventually have AC in the shop, but that probably won't happen in the first couple of weeks. You never know though.

Team in Training

Is holding their 21 mile training run that day in Memorial Park. As I'm a tormentor, er, mentor, I'm obligated to be there. Should be done about noon or so. Should be able to be on time I think. Kerry is coming as well. Perhaps I can get her to shoot as well. She's ex-military, but not too keen on guns. I'll have to have an assult rifle shoot-off with her.
