Default Rear hatch carpet

Im thinking of gettting some thin fiberboard or fiberglass board (different stuff) and replacing the old carpet in the back. Ill carpet the board also. Basically, it would pivot on one edge and the whole carpet would lift up at once.
anyways, in both 951's ive owned, the underside is ususally rotted and the side compartment support had broken off. I think it would be a good solution.
