Default I need a new nose! What should I get, and do you have what I want?

So, thousands of years ago, I crashed into a barrier on a fun run in SD that the Stig organized, and it sucked, immensely.

The good news is, I STRAIGHTENED MY FRAME!! WOO! It looks great, and it was waaay easier than I thought it would be. Lightpole + 5/16" chain + gooseneck = eternal hapiness.

I have all the body panels I will need, except for a good condition valance / spoiler for my N/A. Should I get....

Fiberworks F44 valance (I LOVE this, but it's almost $500!! ouch.)

or this turbo nose at Automotion...looks are...eh...ok. Better w/ a splitter.

or? What else is out there? Anything?

If you have any of that stuff FS, or have a good idea, pipe up. Thanks.

I have a factory front valence in good shape that I'll let go for $150 OBO
I think you should go with that and then start looking for a euro front bumper, thats the best look on a 944 in my opinion....

I might do that, I do like the N/A nose. If I go stock, I want to weld the bumper pad holes shut, and snub it just a little bit. Can you put up a few pictures of the spoiler?

Um, don't think you can use a splitter on the Automotion nose. The aftermarket turbo nose is more squared off and thus I can't see how it would work w/o some real moding.

Find posts by 87_944S for some pics of the nose on his car. Looks very nice but you may want to PM him about the fitment and work it took.

i have a turbo front bumper cover for sale on ebay right now. shipping is going to be a major pain, though, as I cannot seem to determine shipping costs because it's oversize.

Carl - Wow, that looks nice. I don't know if I want to bother tracking down a euro front bumper though, because I have a U.S. bumper already, and I'm on a "budget" of sorts...but I am interested in the spoiler part. Not for sure yet, but hold it for me for a day or so.

Scott - Hm. I wasn't sure about that (whether it was the "same" as factory or not.) Thanks for the tip.

Anyone have the Fiberworks for sale by chance? That's the only way I'm going with that, is if it's "used." $500 makes me shudder

Trevor, PM 87_944S. He's got the one he took off his car and it looked to be in perfect shape last weekend. Last I heard someone had spoken for it but they hadn't yet picked it up. Perhaps their interest backed off.

EDIT

Ooops, I noticed that the nose you're looking for is a little different than the one I was refering to.

Here's the only picture I saved to my HD of his bumper cover. The car was being put back together after a total repaint. He took the cover off in favor of the snub nose look and a lower front valence (not sure where he got the new valence).

I think he didn't like it because there was basically no bumper protection left for frontal impacts. It's pretty much plastic and fenders with the Fiberworks nose.

If I go with a Euro bumper, I still need a regular na valence, right?

Scott - Whatever I can find for a fair price is ok with me, really. I would prefer to find the FW valence used, but I know that's not likely. The turbo nose looks good, just not my style, so I think I'll shy away from that. (Kind of thinking out loud/type here.) So, I'm left with these options:

1. Factory n/a valence w/ US bumper, used (cheapest, $150ish)
2. Factory n/a valence w/ euro bumper, used ($300 - bumper $150 - valence)
3. FW valance, used ($250 range)
4. FW valence, new ($500)

Hm...what to do...

yes, you will still need the valance...
If you want I can make you a DEAL on a bumper, shocks, and the valence, so you will have something to try while waiting on a euro bumper, if you decide to go that route...
one other option is painting front bumper pads...
or skimming the front bumper pads... nice euro plate or something

really its just about what look you are going for, let me know if you are interested! good luck

I have the fiberwerks nose. It's pretty good. Looks great IMHO (much better in person than in pictures).
I'll see if I can dig up some pictures to send you. The only real problem with it I see is that you have to remove the bumper. It does require some work to fit it, but it's designed that way intentionally (to account for differences between cars).

Just curious, what is the stock front valance made out of, fiberglass? My valance was cracked when i bought it. The bottom lip does not go perfectly straight across the bottom as one of the supports is cracked (fairly large crack also). Would a competent body shop be able to repair this or is it better to just get a non damaged one? The hood and front valance are really the only two parts on my car that need work. My buddy's family owns a body shop, so i can basically have any body panel painted for a flat rate of $250. I was going to probably have my hood redone as a crappy quality paint was used and has started to fade. The front valance has cracking paint and the crack in the material itself.

Also typically when going with a euro bumper, what is done about the driving lights? Are these expensive to buy?
