Where did you get them and how much were they? I found some but $174 sounds kind of steep to me. Are they really that much? I may have to go with amber ones for $20. The clear ones look so much better on a black car.

Not sure if I can help on the clear lenses but have you ever thought about smoking the stock ones? Its under 20 bucks for the paint and it looks really nice. Even better on a black car.

Paragon has them, and yes they are pricey. Then again, isn't most stuff that sets us apart from the crowd? I love mine...

Aparently, no-one in the US has stock at the moment!. I got mine from www.porscheshop.co.uk the other day, but you can get them direct from source at www.turnclear.com for a bit cheaper. I think they ship from Sweden, so don't forget shipping and tax ontop of that.
And they look awesome..... Especially with clear side indicators (as on my Euro car) or side markers on the US cars. Now for the rear light blackouts for that stealth look.....!

You can use clear hobby paint. Don't recall the exact name (but I'm sure someone will!), or some stuff like foliatec paint for the job. Not sure on the legality though.

exactly! I have done a set of tail lights on an old Astra I had ages ago, and the spray came with a higher wattage bulb set. I didn't care about blowing things up back then! A couple of light layers isn't gonna hurt that much, but there must be a limit. Plus, I gues technically it's "obscuring" the lighting, and therefore illegal.

I bet mine right from the source in Sweden. Yup, the are expensive. I didnt really wanna pay that much for plastic lenses...but you know what...its way worth it! They totally look amazing in person! I love them! They look especially good on dark colors.

If you have been around for awhile there are only two sources for them. Search function is your friend.
There was someone in Germany that did a one shot deal of a hundred or so. That was a passing ship in the night going at flank speed.
Then there are the Swedes. They had a rough start getting things going. They are using silicone rubber molds, I'm pretty sure, and those things go bad after about 100 casts. And this was sort of a home based business as far as I could tell. So quite a few things could derail that production line, maybe for good.
And the lenses in clear are going to be very expensive no matter what due to the small quantity demand.
Olli S. and I checked into getting Bosch, who has the injection molds, to run some in clear. The molds are in Czechosolvakia or some place like that, I'd have to check my notes. In any event they won't do a small run.
If someone has a bag of cash they may be able to go over to the factory and bribe a new injection mold production run but that is about it outside of doing something similar to the Swedes.
There just isn't enough demand to do this right at a low cost.

Got mine from Simon @ Essential Styling in the the UK, probably sourced it from Turnclear. Worth the money I think.... looks amazing on stone grey. Nose lines look cleaner. I'm thinking about getting the rear clear ones from Turnclear.

Joakim is a Rennlist member I believe.
We had a group buy from Turnclear over on the 944 PCGB forum. I paid £83 (inc p+p) for a front S2 set. Didn't go for the rears, which I'm still in two minds about. They are very good.
ECUdooberhead arranged a group buy on here a while ago. Fronts $120, sidemarkers $75 and rear $53.
Maybe you could instigate another, but be prepared to wait. Our order took approx. two months in all.
I think they are a great upgrade. See pics if you still need convincing.
