It IS a tremendously interesting experiment. I'd love to know how you're solving the problem of the sequential valve - did you find one from a 959 or are you making a damper door or what?

That should not be a problem. The sequential transition
can be easily solve by using a vacuum or electronically
control actuator. How to achieve a smooth transition may
take a bit of trial error effort.

i think the idea is more of a no-lag solution, like using the car in autox w/ turbo and being competitive.

The primary turbo is a Garrett T-25 VNT, they report little to no lag on a smaller engine 2.2L in stock form(Shelby Daytona CSX). There was another site that fitted it to a 2L German Ford in a rail buggy, they also noted that boost was almost instantanious with only a 2.0L pushing it. It is also undersized for the job of supporting the 2.5L up in the revs, I will then actuate the secondary K-26#6 to help along with carrying boost to red. I think it will work out.

Nitrous is temporary, I'm planning a solution to be permanent, I feel the same about water injection. Yes both are very effective, but they are not a solution, just a temporary bandaid I feel. I'm working on design. We'll see if it pans out.

I'm still looking for the check valve for the 959 on the intake side, I did get a butterfly style exhaust brake for the secondary turbo.

With any luck, my design will work as planned and perform as a big NA.

The T25 was the stock turbo for the Nissan SR20DET engine (which I had in my turbo G20). The stock T25 has nearly zero lag by itself. But, it also runs out of breath in a hurry. I think you'll be very disappointed with these turbos for the 944. They just will not flow enough and will not be very efficient. A T28 hybrid would possibly make a nice turbo for this car.

I don't think you're going to make much power with twin T25s.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade however. It's nice to see someone doing something other than what all the other kids are doing. Good luck.

T25 is also stock on 2G DSMs...

I understand they run out of breath REAL QUICK. IF you want a small turbo that still has power look at a 14b (stock turbo off of a 1g DSM)

This is also pretty common in the Supra world, with their big honking turbos.

I wonder if you've ever considered running a twinscroll Garrett GT32R? This turbo is suppossed to be known for its area under the curve, quick spool and decent top-end.

He's not running twin T25's. The second turbo will be a K26-6.

Andy, I was one of the nay-sayers who proposed the 968 turbo route or something else. But after seeing these pics, I am officially the Chairman of the unofficial Andy K fan club. Not only do I want to see this DONE, I want to see it in 'Excellence.' Keep 'em coming, Andy.

Yeah what pete said. It doesnt matter that the t25 runs out of breath in higher RPM's because thats when the k26-6 kicks in, by design anyway..

Andy,
Me and my dad have been doing a bunch of our own " manufacturing" of parts and such on the rover lately, and I thought it was amazing the things we faked in our own ways.
But your work is just amazing.. I wish I had the time, or ambition to do such a thing!
