If you're going to Hershey...
This is a feeler post for another Rennlist (annual?) gathering at Hershey this year in April. We need to get an idea of how many people would be interested in the following.
Hotel:
-Approximately $100/night double occupancy
-Must reserve in advance
-No more than 10-15 minutes from park
-Will have pool, gym, highspeed internet for all the truly hardcore Rennlist addicts (and real-time swapmeet reports )
-Caravan to the park Saturday morning with a bunch of new Rennlist friends
Banquet:
-Held at hotel Saturday night, (4/23/05) after the swapmeet and after you've had time to shower or relax
-$25 per person, purchase ticket in advance
-Cash bar
-Ticket includes buffet dinner
-Menu available closer to the date
-A bunch of Rennlist fun with John D. and pals
Last year we booked over 40 rooms and sold out the banquet with 80 guests. A good time was had by all. The banquet and hotel prices are just rough estimates right now. The price is solely dependant on how many people we have interested. Please vote above and give a show of hands. Don't forget to select all poll questions that apply to you.

Well.. that changes my plans a bit. I had thought of scooting out Saturday afternoon.... But a Saturday night banquet sounds very tasty. We stayed in Cambridge Ohio on the way back last time- a romantic little burg and I'd have to talk someone outta that stay.
I'll be posting caravan plans in the next few weeks or so, April 23rd is creeping up fast.
10 weekends??!! WOW! Must save cash..
My thumbnail sketch- Leaving Cinci Friday morning- arrive Hershey 5-6 pm or so Friday night for the 7 pm kickoff bash at Hershey Hotel. (Yeah, hanging with the aircoolers) I know there will be at least 5 of us leaving from here (including a couple of 996's) that have committed already.
There is a LOT of buzz about Hershey this year, I encourage everyone to attend. It's equal to Mecca for Porschephiles. Want a car, buy a car, sell a car- all the components are there. The local PCA does a very nice job on this event. I missed last year due to lack of funds.
If you need anything for any model porsche model, It's likely to be at Hershey- great buys and selection on parts. It was definetly worth the 15 plus hour drive from Illinois.
I will see you there.

Guys,
John has put the job of getting everything together for the banquet/hotel in the hands of Paul (944 Fanatic) and I. We had Pete xpost this for us on the forums.
If you have any ideas, suggestions or questions let us know. Last year was a blast and we are going to make this year even better.

It was a blast year, no doubt. Damian to give you an idea there were ~1200 cars there last year. In fact, I'm pretty sure I saw your car there and met you briefly! In the 968 section which was right next to the concours? Kinda tough to forget the Speed Yellow 968 cab!
Anyway, yes there are many vendors at the Hershey swapmeet. Like Chris said, pretty much any P-car, you need a part for it, chances are you can find it here. Last year I bought a $40 Widefire Ring headgasket set (thats damn cheap). You'll find a lot of backyard mechanics selling off surplus items just taking up space in their garage (god knows I am). At the same time, you'll probably find a giant Cargraphic trailer with a few of their latest creations on display.
There's usually an autocross on Sunday morning, so for those of you planning on attending that, join us for dinner the night before.
Anyway, what I'm rambling towards is that yes, its worth the trip, yes, its a blast and, YES its great fun meeting up and Porsching around with other Rennlisters (just ask those 944fest guys!)
So, like Travis said, he and I are still in the process of arranging everything, if anyone has input we'd welcome it. More solid details on the hotel, pricing, deadlines etc will be up later this week, but hope to see you there!

Paul, I do remember chatting. I doubt I'll make the April Swap-in June I've got the 968 meet the days before Hershey PCA to do, that's all pretty expensive-plus I hate to rack up the miles, I never buy anything at the swap meet anyway but fireworks on the way home.
