Default Fuel injector rebuild?

Did I dream this or wasn't there an article in Excellence about somebody that can rebuild my injectors? Or is this a bad idea? Rebuilding my "Popped Motor" (as Andy nine-44 called it...cracked me up!) I'll have plenty of time wait for a rebuild if that's the way to go.

You can have them cleaned, balanced, and sorta rebuilt. look for threads on that by Eyal 951

i got mine cleaned, balanced, and flow-matched at www.witchhunter.com for $12 each. new filters and seals, too. very good deal compared to buying new injectors

WitchHunter for me as well, I've sent about 20 injectors through them in the past 2 months.

Did any of you notice a difference in performance?

This piece of info makes my $32 membership a real bargain.

CKKrause, huge performance difference - changed a car from not running to running in one case.

RC engineering was the place GRM did an article on last month, they are pretty well known, but more expensive for some reason than witchhunter.

ckkrause - can't say whether or not i noticed a difference because i had mine rebuilt while the engine was apart, so there are many factors that contributed to the engine running better after it's been rebuilt besides the injectors

More expensive to to supply and demand. They are THE place for the Japanese crowd, they dont have to be cheap.

I used Marren in CT. The injectors came back with a variance of only 1%. Some other cheaper places advertise results within 5%. My injectors were 3.5% to start with so that wouldn't help. On a turbocharged car, I wouldn't run such a large variance personally.

With WitchHunter he doesn't "spec" - you tell him if you want flow or clean. My return results from cleaning have always been within 1% - I've sent near-new injectors that I modifed, to just be flow checked, with instructions to clean only if over 2% unbalanced, and he's quite accomodating with requests like that.

I just sent mine out to http://www.cleaninjectors.com/ . It was $49 + shipping for 4. We'll see what a difference it makes. In the meantime i've put in the new throttle cam from Rennbay and a new oxygen sensor so who knows whether the performance increase I will note will be from the injectors or not. Mostly i'm just trying to get this damn thing to pass smog.

Is there a rebuild kit for 968 injectors like the borg-warner one for the 944's? Even Jason at Paragon Products didn't show a kit, just top and bottom seals (no hat or ring). The 968's have a different fuel injector than my 944S2 that I have rebuilt the injectors for in the past.
