Default O.E.M. Tire Brand

Just curious, what was the orignal tire brand and type of rubber put on the 15" rims for the 944 for the U.S ?

I think they were Pirelli P7s.

It varied... my 84 was delivered with Dunlops and many of the later cars came with Yokohama AOO8P's.

It varied widly. If you do a search for this topic, or similar you will see where I compiled somewhat of a list from what people told me they had originally.

My early 85 NA came with Pirelli P6. The 86 Turbo came with Dunlop's.

Pirelli P6's were the front of my 924S. Unsure if they were original or not, but they defenetley looked like. Alot of dry rot and cracking on them.

That's just a "feature" of Pirellis. My P6's and P600's dry rotted long before the tires reached the wear bars.
