Default DME relay

I feel dumb for asking but where is the DME relay. I was told i can test the fuel pump by shorting it.

It's in the fuse compartment under the hood. Open it up, and there is a schematic on the back of the cover that tells you which one is the DME relay.

Andy and Brett are right on cars newer than 85.5, on 83-85's it is in the driver's footwell on top of the top left hand side of the fuse panel.

Here is the info for by-passing the relay.

Wonder why they moved the fuse panel to the outside for the newer cars?

I carry this thing in my glove box. It's saved me twice in the last year.

Headhunter, i have an 86, and i bypassed the relay once for fuel testing, but i only jumpered pins 87 -> 30 i think. you have 3 wires on yours, why is that?

As taken from Clark's:

Install one spade connector into terminal 87.
Install the second spade connector into terminal 87b.
Install the last spade connector into terminal 30. When the connector is installed into terminal 30 you should hear the fuel pump energize. The car can then be started using the ignition switch.

We just finished the trouble shooting as shown on clarks. We connected 3 bladejumper across terminals 30, 87, and 87b even tried terminals 86, 87, and 87b. WHen i connected 30,87,87b i could hear like the fuel pump jerk once after i turn the key and turn it off and turn back on and it will jerk again. So i'm at another road block

You can also try the "paper" trick. Wad up paper so it fits between the contacts inside the relay, forcing them both solid closed (I gotta take a pic of my modified one) Easy peasy.
